Proposed and planned projects:
• Electric Water Taxi Service.
~ With the following proposed ports: Clinton, Langley, Freeland, Coupeville, Oak Harbor, Camano Island, and Warm Beach. These will be operated by Island Transit, with coordination of the Port of South Whidbey, the Port of Coupeville, and the WSF.
• Electrifying the Transit.
~ Range is NOT an issue, as long as we develop SOLUTIONS and not be deterred by things with quick fixes.
~ Robotic induction chargers to charge the transits while drivers are on their lunch breaks, that will become completely flush with the ground once the vehicle is charged.
~ Coordinating with companies and nonprofits authorized by the Federal Transit Authority to convert Transits to Electric Drive.
• Installing chargers.
~ AT LEAST one Level 3 charger must be installed along the island's main arterial - proposed site to be at Greenbank Farm.
~ More Level 2 EVSE chargers to be installed within each city. Determination of minimum number of Level 2 chargers per the desired end state of 100% fully electric driving.
